The Las Casitas Homeowners Association has partnered with MyCommunityAlert (MCA) to provide you with a new informational/emergency notification system that will assist in bringing the residents of our community closer together. Beginning April 1, 2018, residents will be able to register for the MCA service and begin to receive text and email alerts about community happenings, crime, missing pets or people, and other relevant information. All residents must personally register the cell phone numbers and/or email addresses through which they would like to receive alerts. The cost for MCA is paid through your homeowners dues and there is no additional cost to you.
Why did Las Casitas partner with MCA?
Many of us don’t know all our neighbors, much less what happens daily in our neighborhoods. Through alerts sent through the MCA communications system, you will learn quickly about local crime, suspicious activity, community upgrades, key events, and more. The information you receive will be informative, save you time and money, reduce your chance of becoming a victim of crime, and assist in bringing our community together.
What kind of alerts will I receive?
Many types of alerts may be sent, including those about:
- Relevant criminal activity.
- Early school closings due to emergencies.
- Silver or amber alerts reported in the area
- Community events, meetings, and upgrades or improvements that affect your neighborhood and/or community facilities.
- Missing/found pets (residents may the management company or MCA to report missing/found pets in the community).
- Alerts with photo attachments may also be sent, helping to clarify alert information.
How do I register?
Please go to MyCommunityAlert to register up to two (2) cell phone numbers and three (3) email addresses per residence. On the registration page, you determine whether you wish to receive text or email or both types of alerts. (If you only want to receive email alerts, do not enter any cell phone information.)
